Boracay
Manila to boracay by plane
The quickest way to travel to Boracay Island, is to take a plane from Manila domestic terminal and fly to the island of Panay in the Visayas. The two flight options you have, is to fly directly to either the cities of Kalibo or Caticlan on Panay Island.
The flight time to either city is 1 hour.
The airlines that travel to either Kalibo or Caticlan are Philippine Airlines, Asian Spirit, Cebu Pacific or Air Philippines.
The flight time to either city is 1 hour.
The airlines that travel to either Kalibo or Caticlan are Philippine Airlines, Asian Spirit, Cebu Pacific or Air Philippines.
The best flight is via Caticlan. The planes are smaller, maybe not so good to some, but the flip side is the planes do not fly quite as high and the view is absolutely awesome! The other benefit is that Caticlan is the jump off port to catch a ferry or banca boat to Boracay Island, so the short transfer time from plane to ferry is minimal, no more than 10 minutes.
Flights to Kalibo are by Boeing 737 aircraft. From Kalibo you have a 1 ½ to 2 hour trip by air conditioned bus or private mini van, which will take you to Caticlan.
Once you have reached Caticlan, you have a twenty minute banca trip to Boracay Island. The banca trip will drop you off at one of the three Boat Stations on White Beach, which is on the west coast of Boracay Island.

Agusan Marsh
How to get to Agusan Marsh
Take a manila domestic flights to Davao or Butan, about 70km south of Butuan on the road to Davao, the Agusan Marsh Wildlife Sanctuaryis a giant maze of interconnecting rivers, channels and lakes, with dramatic areas ofswamp forest consisting largely of sago trees and inhabited by parrots, purple herons, serpent eagles and a good number of saltwater and Philippine crocodiles.
The marsh is around 2 hours 30 minutes from Butuan and 3 hour from Davao; whichever direction you’re coming from, you need to get off the bus in the town of Bunawan (only slow non-a/c buses stop here), and then take a tricycle west to the town hall (t910/984-0285) to register.
From here you can hire a boat and guide for the three-hour ride along the river to the marsh area itself – be prepared for a full day out and take lots of water and sunblock. Hotels in Butuan can help arrange trips, but a locally arranged day tour in Bunawan costs around P1500 for the boat plus P1000 for the guide. Despite its isolation, the marsh is inhabited by about 2600 people, mainly the Manobo, an animist group that live across much of eastern Mindanao. Their houses are floating wooden structures with thatched roofs and rest on a platform lashed to enormous logs. Whole communities exist like this, their houses tethered to one another in one place, but moveable at any time. There is some very basic accommodation in Bunawan if you get stuck, and some of the floating Manobo villages also offer lodgings – ask at the town hall.

Camotes Island
Cebu
How to get to Camotes Island
You can take a boat from Cebu City going to Poro on Camotes Island. The cheaper way is taking a bus from Cebu City to Danao and a boat going to Camotes. There are several boats here going either to Consuelo, San Francisco, Poro or Kawit.
Jomalia Shipping Cooperation e.g. has four boats a day going from Danao to Consuelo (5:30am, 08:30am, 12:00pm and 05:30pm). An aircon ticket is 200 Pesos, non aircon 180 Pesos.
There are also four boats daily going back from Consuela to Danao (5:30am, 09:00am, 02:00pm and 04:00pm) with this company. The Super Shuttle Ferry goes once a day from Danao to Consuelo (6:30 am) and once to Poro (1:00pm). There is also one boat a day going back from Consuelo to Danao (10:00am) and one from Poro to Danao (5:00pm).
Like at many piers on the Philippines be careful as probably the first person you ask will tell you that the boat of the company he/she is working for is the only one going to Camotes. Better to ask around to avoid long waiting hours and to be able to choose the cheapest company.
Upon arrival on Camotes Island plenty of tricycle drivers will be waiting for you. The island is very organized as there is a standard fixed rate to every destination. So there won’t be any bargaining for the fare of the ride but also no rip-off.

Pros:
- Fast and convenient: It takes an hour or less to reach Camiguin from Cebu, however, including check-in and boarding time, 3 hours would be the approximate time needed. This estimated travel time is still faster than the swiftest ferry trips to Camiguin.
- Unreliable schedule & service: Since its launch, Cebu Pacific aircraft departing to and from Camiguin has had setbacks such as delayed and overbooked flights. The schedule of flights used to be 3-4 times a week but starting March 2014, Cebu Pacific has a scheduled daily flights.
- Tickets can be quite expensive during peak seasons such as Holy Week, Lanzones Festival, Christmas and New Year. For instance, try to book a flight in December and notice that upon check-out, the final amount will still be more than Php 2,500.
Pros:
- Fixed schedule: Weather permitting, every Friday, a boat operated by Super Shuttle Ferry takes Cebu passengers to Camiguin from 8PM every Friday.
- Cheap: Fares range from 800-1000 Php/way. Ferry's ticket prices do not increase dramatically as do plane tickets.
- Slow, really slow. I only recommend taking this trip if you have plenty of time to kill and plan to stay in Camiguin for, at least, 3 days. Otherwise, find alternative routes...like via Bohol.
There are only ferry trips eah day from Jagna Port to Camiguin.
- Ocean Jet: This fastcraft leaves at around 1:30 PM. It takes about 2 hours to reach the Benoni Port in Camiguin. While fast, its schedule can be un-reliable. Check Ocean Jet's schedule and be sure to contact them before planning your trip.
- Super Shuttle Ferry: This is your typical barge and leaves port at 2:00 PM. The whole trip to Camiguin will take between 4 to 5 hours depending on its cargo and the weather.
Pros:
- Cheap: A one-way ticket costs PHP 500 – even during peak or busy seasons.
- Limited daily trips. If you don't catch any of the two trips, you're stuck in Bohol for another day.
- Slow: Missing the first trip means doubling the sea travel time. Missing both trips means spending the night in Jagna to wait for the next day's ferry trip.
Pros:
- Relatively fast: Ocean Jet has one of the fastest commercial ferries so sea travel is shortened and surprisingly, convenient.
- Cheap: Traveling by sea is way cheaper than traveling by air. If this is ever an option, many frugal passengers will still prefer a ferry over a plane ride.
- Only 1 trip everyday: Once the ferry leaves, the next one will be available the day after.
Pros:
- Reliable schedule: More ferry trips scheduled for the day means more chances of catching a ferry ride.
- Cheap: It costs only 150 Php to get to Camiguin from Balingoan –now, that's a bargain.
- Rather hard to get to Balingoan: The trip from Cagayan de Oro City to Balingoan can be exhausting – but this is really a matter of preference.
